Former Seattle Mariners star Jay Buhner and Dino Rossi, the Republicans' 2004 candidate for governor and a former state senator, have purchased minority shares of the Everett AquaSox minor-league baseball team.
Pete Carfagna, the senior vice president of the Class A team in the Northwest League, confirmed Monday night that Buhner's and Rossi's purchase is why the AquaSox scheduled a news conference today in Everett.
Carfagna said that he and his father Peter will remain majority, controlling partners of the team.
