Former Seahawks safety Ken Hamlin signs with Cowboys

Seattle's secondary had no room left for safety Ken Hamlin so he headed to Texas, the state where everything is supposed to be a little bit bigger.
Hamlin signed with the Dallas Cowboys on Friday. It's a one-year contract that will pay him $2.5 million, according to NFL.com.
Hamlin was drafted in the second round by Seattle in 2003. He played four seasons with the Seahawks before becoming a free agent. He missed much of last season after suffering a head injury when he was assaulted outside a Seattle night club.
Hamlin started at free safety last season, but when the Seahawks signed safeties Deon Grant and Brian Russell during the first week of free agency, it was evident Seattle was not going to bring Hamlin back. He previously visited the Saints during the first week of free agency.
Seattle has Grant, Russell, Michael Boulware and Mike Green under contract at safety. The Seahawks also tendered Jordan Babineaux a qualifying offer. Babineaux is a restricted free agent, and the Seahawks will have him back. He has played cornerback in addition to safety.
