Series: The series is tied 1-1. In 2006, Gonzaga beat Indiana 90-80 in the second round of the NCAA tournament in Salt Lake City. In 2002, Indiana beat Gonzaga 76-75 at the Maui Invitational.

Common opponents: Two — both teams lost to Duke and Butler. Indiana lost at Duke 54-51 and to Butler 60-55 in Indianapolis. Gonzaga lost to Duke 61-54 in the Aeropostale Classic, and Butler 79-71 in the championship game of the Preseason NIT. Both games were played at Madison Square Garden in New York City

• Junior forward D.J. White, who redshirted last season with a broken foot, was named to the All-Big Ten second team. He was the Big Ten freshman of the year in 2004-05.
