An assault charge against Seahawks defensive end Bryce Fisher was dismissed today.
Fisher was arrested in April 2006 and charged with fourth-degree assault, a gross misdemeanor charge. He pleaded not guilty and the charges were dismissed by the prosecutor, said Bill Bowman, Fisher's attorney.
"We think the right result for this case was to be dismissed," Bowman said. "And we're pleased that it [was] although we wished it would have happened sooner."
Fisher was arrested after police responded to a call for a domestic disturbance involving Fisher and his wife. Fisher is the one who called 9-1-1. The police report indicated he twisted his wife's arm behind her back during the dispute.
The case was continued in June and again in December before being dismissed today. The court docket indicated the victim was unwilling to proceed, and the city moved to dismiss the charges.
