Four Blue Chip players for 2007
Kevin Freitag,
Kennedy
Offensive lineman
6 feet 4, 286 | Headed to: Washington State
One stat tells you how hard the WSU recruit hits: He broke four helmets he was issued last season. Kennedy coach Bob Bourgette calls Freitag the best lineman he's seen in his 34 years on staff at Kennedy of Burien. Was the Seamount League's offensive and co-defensive lineman of the year after opening and closing holes all season for the Lancers, who finished 13-1 as Class 3A state runners-up.
Kellen Kiilsgaard, Auburn

Quarterback
6 feet 2, 217 | Headed to: Stanford
The Stanford recruit was a Seattle Times All-State and Star Times all-area defensive back and all-league quarterback and punter. Kiilsgaard ran for 23 touchdowns and passed for 13 for the Class 3A semifinalist. He could be a potential starter at defensive back if he switches to opposite side of the ball. Kiilsgaard may eventually play baseball as well as football at Stanford. Has a 3.95 cumulative grade average.
Marshall Lobbestael, Oak Harbor
Quarterback
6 feet 2, 210 | Headed to: Washington State
Lobbestael led his Whidbey Island school to the Class 4A state championship. The Seattle Times 4A Player of the Year and Star Times all-area selection. Passed for 2,783 yards and 36 touchdowns with 14 interceptions. Lobbestael, whose older brother also was a quarterback at Oak Harbor, has a quick release. The three-sport standout also contributed on defense. Has 3.7 cumulative grade average.
Nate Williams, Kennedy
Running back/defensive back
6 feet 1, 210 | Headed to: Washington
Speedy Washington recruit rushed for 1,954 yards last fall and scored 41 touchdowns, giving him 92 TDs for his career. Seattle Times Class 3A State Player of the Year made Times' all-state and all-area teams. Williams is an outstanding defensive player, and Kennedy coach Bob Bourgette predicts he eventually will move to defense and wind up as starting strong safety for the Huskies.
