Prosser senior Kellen Moore, who shattered state high-school passing records the past two seasons, has been named state player of the year by The Associated Press.

Moore, who will play at Boise State next season, also was named Class 2A all-state quarterback in balloting by sports editors and writers. He previously was named The Seattle Times state player of the year for all classifications.

In four years at Prosser, Moore set five state records — pass completions (317), yards (4,600) and touchdown passes (67) in one season, and career records for completions (787) and TD passes (173).

Other players of the year were Oak Harbor quarterback Marshall Lobbestael (4A), Kennedy running back Nate Williams (3A), Meridian quarterback Tyler Slesk (1A), La Salle running back Lawrence Cacchiotti (B-11) and Tri-Cities running back Joe Campbell (B-8).
