First race: 2 p.m.

1 5 furlongs, purse $15,900, 2-year-old fillies, maiden claiming $40,000
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
2 Irene's Bonus Baby S Gann 6 117
4 My Little Tuffy J Gutierrez 5 117
6 Favorite Holiday G Mitchell 7/2 117
1 Oh So Classic J Zunino 8 117
3 Marianne Rose B Russell 9/2 117
5 Appleness N Chaves 8 117
7 Careless Heart K Radke 3 117
8 The Last Tea J Felix 12 117
IRENE'S BONUS BABY is bred to win at age 2 and barn does a great job with debuting 2-year-olds. MY LITTLE TUFFY is by Tough Knight (19 percent of his debuting 2-year-olds win) and just put in a snazzy workout earlier this month. FAVORITE HOLIDAY starts for trainer Bud Klokstad, who entered the meet 22 for 112 (20 percent) lifetime with debuting 2-year-olds at Emerald Downs, but they always seem to be an underlay.
2 6 furlongs, purse $6,000, 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares, claiming $3,500
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
3 Ice and Vice J Whitaker 2 123
2 Coral Creek K Radke 5/2 123

1 Breezing Louise K Krigger 7/2 120
4 Dovedale N Chaves 10 120
6 Tahoe Holiday J Zunino 15 120
ICE AND VICE has won two of three at the meet and is batting .333 at today's distance. CORAL CREEK missed by a neck in last and has put in a good effort in each of her four starts at the meet. AFLEETILATION is sticking at the bottom level after winning consecutive races. Not a bad idea, as the name of the game is "win."
3 1 mile, purse $5,700, 3-year-olds and up, claiming $4,000
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
1 Star Valley Star B Russell 3 124
2 De Chirrico D Hoonan 5/2 121

5 General Plan G Mitchell 10 121
6 Mac Daddy J N Chaves 15 121
7 Blazing Tide J Felix 4 124
8 Billy Stark R Frazier 5 121
STAR VALLEY STAR drops into a good spot to pick up her third career victory. Jockey Benny Russell is clicking at 29 percent when he ventures two turns. DE CHIRRICO hasn't raced over a dirt oval in more than a year but will likely be the favorite as he's never raced in a non-winners of three condition race. MAJORSCAM got away with a moderate pace in last and was long gone when she turned for the wire.
4 5 ½ furlongs, purse $17,600, 2-year-olds, maiden special weight
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
4 Top Threat N Chaves 10 118
8 Liberty for Al B Russell 7/2 118
3 Numbers for Dinner L Mawing 6 118

6 Ourcowboycody Ventura, Jr. 15 118
7 Wild Cycle R Frazier 3 118
9 Confident Slew J Felix 10 118
Scratched: Naches Deputy, Road to Tipperary

Tough heat as nine are making their career debut. How about TOP THREAT? He's by an outstanding debut sire, and his mom has done a good job in the breeding shed. LIBERTY FOR AL has had an out, and she did rally for third. NUMBERS FOR DINNER cost $90K as a yearling purchase, so maybe he can run a little. Trainer Richard Wright was 4-31 debuting 2-year-olds the first 10 years but his last one was in 1999.

5 6 furlongs, purse $22,300, 3-year-olds and up, Allowance
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
1 Starbird Road D Hoonan 9/5 121
4 Sabertooth N Chaves 2 121
5 Salt Grinder G Mitchell 7/2 121
2 Flying Notes K Radke 3 121
3 Zona De Impacto J Whitaker 12 121
Only five signed up to run, but what an interesting group. STARBIRD ROAD hasn't raced in six weeks but has been moving quite fast in the a.m. SABERTOOTH makes his 8-year-old debut and he's in a new barn (Grant Forster's). Came off the bench last year to run a big second in the Seattle H. SALT GRINDER, a winner of 7 of 18 starts over the Auburn oval, has had some time off, so expect him to put in another good effort.
6 5 ½ furlongs, purse $5,400, 3-year-olds and up, claiming $4,000
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
7 Diamond Spell D Hoonan 10 118
6 Easy Rodney J Zunino 7/2 124
4 Count Drac C Jones 5/2 118
1 Quarter Pole E Fuentes 9/2 124

3 Free Blast K Krigger 15 124
5 Double Eight Ventura, Jr. 20 124
8 Nickotea A De Leon 6 124
9 Lovers Cascadian J Rochabrun 5 118
DIAMOND SPELL drops in class after a couple of good workouts; maybe he'll come alive after a couple of dreadful efforts. EASY RODNEY has already raced five times at the meet, and his worst finish was third. COUNT DRAC was claimed for $7,500 and immediately was dropped in for $4,000 and finished second. He's back under the same conditions; any takers?
7 6 ½ furlongs, purse $5,400, 3-year-olds and up, claiming $3,500

1 D Lux Chimes K Krigger 10 124
7 Ryans Super Star J Felix 6 124
4 Cozforfire C Jones 4 124
2 Jazz Free E Fuentes 15 124
3 Cascade Casey Ventura, Jr. 6 124
5 Legal Games B Russell 5/2 124
6 Irish Tribute J Zunino 7/2 124
8 Majestic Willie M Hadley 8 124
Scratched: Ivans in a Tiz

D LUX CHIMES did finish first or second in six of his first 10 starts last year. This is just his fourth start of the year, so expect a solid try and a decent price. RYANS SUPER STAR closed OK in last as the half-mile split was simply too slow for him. The 6-year-old gets an additional 110 yards to run today. COZFORFIRE has started his 7-year-old campaign with two in-the-money efforts.

8 1 mile, purse $5,400, 3-year-olds and up, claiming $4,000
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.

7 Valentoad C Jones 20 118
8 Shirleyalark G Mitchell 4 124
9 Pacific Armada D Hoonan 12 124
10 Jazz Island J Zunino 15 118
CHALK FREE was three lengths clear of the third-place horse when he hit the wire in his most recent start. Trainer Aubrey Villyard has clicked at 23 percent in route races since 2001. TOP TAKE gets a new rider after faltering as the 5-2 pick in last. FELONY FLYERS regressed in last like the Mariners did when they got back to Safeco.
9 6 ½ furlongs, purse $18,500, 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares, AOC $25,000
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
5 Melba Jewel K Radke 3 120

1 Crowning Adventure J Gutierrez 10 120
4 Oh Yes I Am L Mawing 7/2 120
6 Obispo Kid N Chaves 15 120
MELBA JEWEL picked up her first victory since May 2004 in last when she rallied from just off the pace. Leading rider gets aboard, and that can't hurt. HIT A STAR is fast and likes to stay in front for a long time. GOLD DEVILLE has lost 10 straight races, but she does get close at times.
10 6 furlongs, purse $5,100, 3-year-olds and up, maiden claiming $5,000
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
8 Thunderingslew K Krigger 3 124
6 Cisco Storm Ventura, Jr. 5/2 124
2 Leave'em Pete K Radke 5 124
1 Flat Head Flyer N Chaves 10 124
3 Valenkina J Felix 8 124
4 Wazzu A De Leon 8 118
5 Coldfield A Miranda 20 124
7 French Weave J Gutierrez 4 118
Scratched: Papas Playboy

THUNDERINGSLEW is pretty quick in the first half of the race but puts the brakes on pretty hard when he hits the quarter pole. Maybe he can keep going today, and he'll be a nice price. CISCO STORM darted home to place second against similar two weeks ago. LEAVE'EM PETE will get the leading rider legged up, and trainer Frank Lucarelli is more than 23 percent at this class level the past five years.
