Seahawks

Tobeck, Tatupu added to Pro Bowl roster

Seattle Times staff reporter

Two more Seahawks have been added to the Pro Bowl roster for the NFC - center Robbie Tobeck and middle linebacker Lofa Tatupu.

Tobeck, a 12-year NFL veteran who has been with the Seahawks since 2000, was a first alternate when the all-star squad was chosen in late December. He'll be appearing in the first Pro Bowl of his career.

Tatupu, a rookie who was second in the voting for NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year after leading the Seahawks in tackles with 105, was also an NFC alternate.

That gives the Seahawks seven players on the NFC team for the Feb. 12 game, which is played one week after the Super Bowl.

"It's been a goal of mine every year I've played," Tobeck said. "It feels awesome. It's a real honor and kind of a real humbling thing to finally reach that goal."

Tobeck credited the play of both guards, left guard Steve Hutchinson and right guard Chris Gray, for making his job easier.

Other Seahawks in the game are quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, Hutchinson, left tackle Walter Jones, fullback Mack Strong and running back Shaun Alexander.
