Seahawks
Don't look ahead
Who cares who plays right now, that game is weeks ahead. Cross that bridge when you get to it, things could change.
Mark M., Snohomish
One should not even be pondering such questions at this time. There should be only one focus, and that's the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday. Who cares what the Colts are doing or saying.
H.T., Seattle
I'm more worried about the upcoming Monday Night Football game than I am about something that won't even happen for almost a month! Couldn't we just take things a week at a time?
Lynn C., Kent
Let's not get ahead of ourselves, please. The Seahawks have not won anything yet. They have been here before only to break our hearts. I would like to wait until Christmas Eve and see where we are then.
Craig M., Elmira, N.Y.I think it's extremely premature to be talking about a game three weeks away. The Hawks still have to get through Philly, SF and Tennessee. Let's talk home-field advantage and resting players when and if the Hawks get there. I have been a fan long enough to know a lot can change in three weeks for the Hawks.
GT Hawkfan, Seattle
There is no answer to the "Should you or shouldn't you?" question of resting players before the playoffs. It's purely personal philosophy on the coach's part, and history shows that it makes no difference one way or another to your playoff success. Some teams and players will respond better to getting a week off or a workload reduction, some teams and players will respond better to playing the same amount of time with no rest. Last year, Andy Reid rested some of his Eagles players at the end of the regular season, got second-guessed and criticized for it, and they reached the Super Bowl. Also last year, Bill Belichick didn't rest his Patriots, got second-guessed and criticized for it, and they reached the Super Bowl. There is no right or wrong here. There's only second-guessing, which is pointless because there's no evidence to show that it makes a difference.
