Sonics camp: Day 15 highlights

Medical report: Ray Allen missed yesterday's practice and made a second trip to a doctor's office to determine the cause of a nasal congestion problem believed to be benign polyps. Allen said last night that results of a CT scan were unavailable, and that he was told by doctors they have not ruled out surgery. He's been treating the condition with antibiotics the past two weeks.

Free-agent forward Noel Felix suffered a right shin contusion in Sunday's game against Houston, but should be available to play tonight. Center Vitaly Potapenko (left hamstring strain) and reserve center Mikki Moore (swollen left knee) will not play.

Nick at nite: Short-handed at center, coach Bob Weiss will turn to Nick Collison and insert the backup power forward into the starting lineup tonight against the Los Angeles Clippers. Collison will start alongside forwards Rashard Lewis and Reggie Evans and will be expected to defend 7-foot center Chris Kaman.

"When I first got into the league, that was something of a concern," Collison said. "But I'm getting more and more experience with that going up against those big guys. There's things that I can do against them to get my shot up and over them."

The rundown: The starters will play about 30 minutes tonight, but Weiss did not specify if he plans to keep them on the bench in the fourth quarter as he did in Games 1 and 3 of the preseason. Juggling 15 players in the rotation has been difficult, but he will begin using lineups that are likely to play together during the regular season.

Play of the day: In yesterday's morning scrimmage, Luke Ridnour dribbled between a double team set by Mateen Cleaves and Alex Scales before darting to the rim and flipping a looping layup over Danny Fortson. Minutes later, Ridnour duplicated the trick shot and arced it over Robert Swift.

Quotage: "I'm getting tired of losing. It always feels better after a game when you win." — Weiss on the Sonics' 0-3 exhibition record.
