JOE'S WINGS finished in the top three on two occasions at the recently completed Portland Meadows meet. Trainer Gene Davis has two in here and he won five races here last summer. KANT TOUCH has the rail for her first endeavor in Auburn. Trainer (0 for 36) and jockey (0 for 5) have never won a race at Emerald Downs. COUNTRY CODY made the lead in his last start but don't think he can last the distance.

2 Speakin Britt C Symons 3 121
SLIGHTLY DANJUROUS finished in the exacta both times he ran in Portland for trainer Jim Fergason, who entered the meet 8 for 103 (7.8 percent) at Emerald Downs lifetime. VALENTINE PARADE overcame the outside post (8) to win his second career start last year at 6-1 for trainer Tim McCanna. Going to be a short price, so try to beat him. COUGAR DIVIDE displayed absolutely no speed last year as a 2-year-old but did finish at least third in his last three starts including a victory in his final start.

CALLIE MAE has won five of 15 starts over the Auburn oval and relishes the mile distance (8 for 22 lifetime). She hasn't started since late December for trainer James Sayler, who was 5 for 30 here last summer. BE STILL MY HEART won her past two starts while racing at Portland Meadows with Melissa Peery handling the stick. This 6-year-old mare has won here before and it was at today's distance. BOBBIE WAGNER won her past two starts over a turf course and a muddy dirt surface. Not seeing either of those today for trainer Joe Toye, who is over 19 percent in Auburn during the first 20 days of a meet.

BRIDGE CREEK BOB put in a solid work earlier this week and now takes a big drop in class for trainer Larry Wolf, who does quite well with these types of class-droppers. Could break through for the first time under sunny skies. FOUR ONE NONE finished second three straight times to finish his 4-year-old campaign, and the last one was to Mr. Phantom Slew, who went on to win a bunch at Turf Paradise. Trainer Margo Lloyd won three races here last summer. BIGROCKCANDYMOUNTN ships in from Bay Meadows, where he let a 2-length lead slip away in his most recent start. The 4-year-old figures to at least hit the board as he has never run for this low of tag.

6 Warlago J Rochabrun 6 119
DINNER FOR SURE won twice last year and seems to be a win or run out contender. She has been first or second in 12 of her 24 tries over a fast surface. Trainer Bud Klokstad wins his share, but they just don't pay very much (average winner was $8.32 last year). SUPERIOR KRIS is back for a 7-year-old season and she sports a terrific record at EmD with five wins and nine seconds from 32 starts. Trainer James Sayler was 5 for 17 (29.4 percent) in Auburn last year with runners less than 10-1. JAZZIN WITH JAZZY was cut out to be a runner, but she has had problems and is now running at the bottom level. Wouldn't be surprised if she blitzed this group.

LITTLE BLAST finished third in the slop seven days ago and now takes a big drop in class. Trainer Robbie Baze won at 39 percent with favorites last year at EmD. GOTTAGO JOE got away smoothly in last and wired a group of bottom claimers last summer. Likely to be ignored at the betting windows and he could show up for a top-three placing. ROLLS OF MONEY won here opening night as he received a ground-saving trip ride by Javier Ortega. This time, he's saddled with an outside post.

SHEZA SILVER SPOON made just two early appearances here last summer before going on the shelf. She was bet good in both races, so figure she has some talent, and trainer Dan Markle is over 62 percent with runners off a long layoff making it into the top three. CANTYOUKEEPASECRET finished a decent second at Golden Gate in her last start over a dirt oval. She ships in from Northern California for trainer Bill Tollett, who always does a good job early in the meet. ANOTHERBUSRIDE was a narrow loser the last time she went racing (September 2004). Trainer Terry Gillihan is around 40 percent in MSW races for runners 3 and up and does well with runners off a long time.

SCR TOP PLAYER ran here just once last year, and it was a year ago. He flashed good speed to beat cheaper. Has a chance to lead throughout. BENNY G had his 3-year-old season cut short last year as his last race was in July. He faced some good stock before going on the sideline. Last year's leading rider was aboard for his only win in 2004. C C'S LAST STAND has just a maiden score to his credit but think he can compete at this level. Trainer Richard Wright shows a positive ROI ($2.35) during the first 20 days of an Emerald meet.

WANDA'S ACE is out of a stakes-winning dam and makes his first start for trainer Terry Gillihan, who is the track's all-time leader with debut winners (aged 3 and up) with 15. His sire (Slewdledo) had the most debut winners (six) here last summer. COLDFIELD is out of a fast dam, so he could show speed. KID STOGIE takes a big drop in class and draws the outside post in a wide-open affair. He'll be bet pretty good with the big drop in class, but the post is a problem.
