Prep stars of the week
Tim Smalls, West Seattle boys basketball
Smalls, a 6-foot-3 senior forward, put together back-to-back impressive games for the Wildcats, After collecting 28 points and 12 rebounds in a 65-54 Metro League victory over Bishop Blanchet, he poured in a career-high 31 points — including 19 in the fourth quarter — and had 11 rebounds to key an 82-74 overtime win over Chief Sealth.
Tara Holgate, Snohomish County Christian girls basketball
Holgate, a 6-4 senior headed to Eastern Washington, had a big week. She had 16 points, nine rebounds and eight blocks in a 46-24 win over Lopez Island, 37 points in a 69-67 win over Concrete and 30 points and 17 rebounds in a 64-30 victory over Tulalip Heritage.
Auburn wrestling team
The Trojans, coached by Brian Peterson, ended Enumclaw's 54-match dual-meet win streak in the South Puget Sound League North Division by posting a 32-24 victory. It was the Hornets' first division loss since January 1998.
