UW Football By Bob Condotta
Tedford was thought to have been UW's No. 1 choice to replace Keith Gilbertson as head coach, but indications are that Cal will announce today that Tedford has agreed to a contract to stay at Cal. Cal officials said this morning that the school will "hold a major press conference regarding head coach Jeff Tedford and the Golden Bear football program" Monday at 2 p.m. Speculation is that the press conference is to announce that Tedford has agreed to a new deal to stay at Cal. If Tedford is out of the picture, the Huskies may now turn to the likes of Tyrone Willingham - fired last week as coach at Notre Dame - Louisville's Bobby Petrino and Boise State's Dan Hawkins, among others.
