3:30 p.m. Saturday at Los Angeles Coliseum — TV: FSN

Recently: The Trojans are 6-0, 3-0 in the Pac-10 and ranked No. 1 in the Pac-10. The Trojans have won 15 straight games overall, 18 straight at home and 10 in a row in the Pac-10. USC might have played its best game of the season last week in defeating previously undefeated Arizona State 45-7.

The coach: Pete Carroll is in his fourth season as coach at USC and has done a masterful job rebuilding the Trojans. After starting off his USC career at 2-5, the Trojans have gone 33-4. He was a longtime NFL coach before taking over at USC, including four seasons as coach of the New York Jets and New England Patriots.

History against Huskies: USC leads the series 44-26-4 and has won three of the last four, including the last two. USC won in Seattle last year, 43-23, for its first win at Husky Stadium since 1993. UW hasn't won at USC since a 21-10 win in 1996.

About the Trojans: The Trojans are in the midst of one of the best runs of football in school history, which is saying something for a school that has won 10 national titles and 27 bowl games. ... USC is off to its best start since going 6-0 to begin the 1995 season. ... USC has already beaten three teams in the AP Top 25, the only team in the nation to do that. ... USC averages 35.7 points per game and gives up just 12.5. ... Among the categories in which USC leads the Pac-10 are turnover margin (plus-12, losing just six while getting 18) and sacks (29). ... USC is one of just seven undefeated teams in the country. ... USC is outscoring foes 83-17 in the second half and 48-3 in the fourth quarter. ... Steve Smith, USC's leading receiver, is out with a leg injury.

Players to watch

QB Matt Leinart: Leinart may not have the biggest stats in the Pac-10, in part because he doesn't have to throw as much as some other QBs. But in the most important stats, his numbers are hard to argue. Leinart has 14 touchdowns and just one interception this season and sports an 18-1 record as USC's starter. During USC's 15-game winning streak, he has thrown 44 TD passes and six interceptions.

RB Reggie Bush: Bush, also used as a receiver and a returner, may be the best player in college football history who isn't a starter. Bush ranks second in the nation in all-purpose yardage (184.0 per game) and is among the Pac-10 leaders in kickoff returns, punt returns and scoring. Bush has scored eight touchdowns — three rushing and five receiving.

DE Shaun Cody: Cody is the most experienced player on a typically dominant USC defensive front. Cody is second in the Pac-10 with six sacks and also among the top 10 in tackles for loss.
