The Washington men's basketball team has reportedly received a commitment from Justin Dentmon, a 6-foot, 180-pound point guard from Carbondale, Ill. The commitment was reported on several recruiting Web sites yesterday.

Dentmon, who will attend a prep school in Winchendon, Mass., this season, is the fourth member of UW's recruiting class of 2005, joining shooting guards Harvey Perry of Henderson, Nev., and Robert Sallie of Sacramento, Calif., and forward Artem Wallace of Toledo, Lewis County. All will likely sign official letters of intent this fall and enroll at UW in the fall of 2005.

Dentmon's commitment could mean the Huskies are no longer in the running for two of the state's top prospects: forward Jon Brockman of Snohomish and shooting guard Martell Webster of Seattle Prep.

Brockman is expected to take an official recruiting visit next week to Duke, the school that is said to be leading for his services. Webster, meanwhile, has scheduled his first recruiting visit for later this month to Arizona, the school thought to be his favorite.
