CHANCEFORDIAMONDS ran for a half-mile in last before calling it quits. Might last longer against this group. MISSY BAQUERO finished second in a couple of races this spring at Portland Meadows. THERESA O raced once at Sun Downs (Tri-Cities) and beat just one. Can't figure her beating two today. Scratched: Salish Smoke

YOUGOTTABE THE ONE might be the one for trainer Don Munger, who is 1 for 109 since the beginning of the 2002 season at Emerald. ENEMY LINES hasn't done a lick of racing in two opportunities but now comes the drop in class. Trainer Pete Axmaker hits at 25 percent with these types of class-droppers. HURICANE BALLY sucked a bunch of money into her corner in last as she displayed good speed in her first two starts. But she faded again in the stretch and ran her worst race to date. Speed is always good, but make sure the price is fair. Scratched: Bank On Batonnier

| JAMES B has faltered twice as the betting favorite at the meet and now goes two turns for the first time for trainer Keith Nations (6 for 54 lifetime at EmD). Leading rider Ricky Frazier gets aboard, so maybe today's the day. WILD STORIES, a loser of all 16 starts, runs a mile for the first time at the meet. The 5-year-old gelding had some success against better while touring two turns last year. J P PATCHES ($80,000 yearling purchase) drops in for a $8,000 tag after not doing much in his first two starts. Trainer Sharon Ross is around 14 percent in maiden-route races and 17 percent when she drops a horse three levels in class. He's bred for longer races, so the price will be short.

| ROAD TO RECOVERY is back in a week for trainer H.R. Mullens, who is super with runners back in 10 or less days. But on the negative side, Mullens is 1 for 34 the past five years with his stock going sprint to route. BLACK ELK returns to the distance that he broke his maiden at. J J'S SON has a win and three second-place finishes at the meet, so he looks life a safe play.

| MAJOR HORN encountered a wide trip in last but still made a good run late to just miss. Draws an inside post today, so hopefully he'll save some ground. COURAGEOUS JOURNEY ran a respectable third in last as he was stuck in behind runners for most of the race. Should get clear sailing from the outside post and put in a couple of nifty interim works. KITTYS KATALIST woke up in last as he finished a clear second behind a wire-to-wire winner. Trainer Jim Penney is around 20 percent in maiden-route races, so the added distance shouldn't be a problem.

| GOLDZINGER, who is a half-brother to the speedy Summer Sails, makes his debut at the basement for trainer Grant Forster (7 for 18 at this level the past five summers). WAR CASH had problems leaving the gate while racing in northern California the past few months. Should hit the board against this group for trainer Roger Stevenson (10 for 144 lifetime at EmD). GHOST WOLF made a bold move in last while racing 8 furlongs. Cuts back in distance today for trainer Joe Toye, who can pop with a shot when they are cutting back in distance. Scratched: Bag a Buckie

| We've got 12 runners who haven't won a race this year signed up to go. Good luck. GLO'S MOE, who won three races last year as an 8-eight-year-old, makes his third start at the meet for trainer Sharon Ross. The Washington-bred won his third start of the season the past two years. UNCLE JER should be a decent price, as he hasn't raced since last September. PETER PUNKIN EATER doesn't win too often but might be able to get involved in the super.

| STEAL THE GOLD is as fast as they come, and you could have claimed her for $8,000 last summer. ENDURING LIGHT is going good right now for trainer Tom Wenzel. She ran her career-best race in last. CARDINALLI, who broke her maiden going wire to wire, will come from off the pace against this group.

| IRISH TRIBUTE woke up in last and paid $20.40 to win. He improved significantly last year, so maybe a repeat performance is a possibility. BAY WIDE TOTAL will have plenty of speed to run at, and he likes this surface. HOLLOW MEMORIES can be extremely tough to pass, and he likes to win races (4 for 7 at EmD).

| AFFIRMING STORM is back in nine days after a dull effort. Won his only race last year coming back in 11. HARBRO has finished second in his past to starts and ventures 8 furlongs for the first time at the meet. HERBE VERT makes his first start since last August. He won three of 11 starts last season and finished second five times. Scratched: Long On Pride
