LaHair homer gives AquaSox 3-2 victory

YAKIMA — Brian LaHair broke a 2-2 tie in the sixth inning with his first home run of the season as the Everett AquaSox beat the Yakima Bears 3-2 in Northwest League action last night.

Everett (3-1) trailed Yakima 2-0 after the third inning, but tied the score by scoring two runs in the fifth inning in front of 2,287 fans at Yakima County Stadium.

Everett starter Ruben Flores (1-0) allowed two hits over six innings of work. At one point, Flores retired 10 batters in a row. Former Cougar Aaron Trolia worked a scoreless ninth for his first pro save.

Trey Hendricks homered for Yakima (2-2).

The AquaSox take on the Bears again tonight. Shawn Nottingham will start on the mound for Everett against Yakima's Chad Clark.

Everett concludes its five-game series with Yakima on Friday.
