Mariners update

Who's hot: LHP Jamie Moyer hasn't lost since April 22. ... OF Randy Winn is 8 for 21 (.381) during his five-game hitting streak. ... LHP Eddie Guardado has saved three of the Mariners' past four games.

Who's not: 3B Scott Spiezio was 2 for 17 (.118) during the Mariners' interleague trip to Milwaukee and Pittsburgh. Spiezio is hitting .154 in June. ... 2B Bret Boone is 0 for 13 in his past four games. ... DH Edgar Martinez is hitting .225 in June.

Against the Rangers: The Mariners are 2-4 against Texas this season, 0-3 at Ameriquest Field. Seattle has been outscored 35-22 in the six games. ... Moyer is 13-3 against the Rangers, 1-0 this year (eight innings, three hits, one run). ... RHP Ryan Franklin was roughed up by Texas on April 25, allowing nine hits and seven earned runs in just 2-2/3 innings. Since then, Franklin's earned-run average is 3.60.

Note

Martinez was limited to a pinch-hitting role in interleague games at Milwaukee and Pittsburgh, getting just four plate appearances in six games (1 for 2, with two walks).

Rangers update

Who's hot: 3B Hank Blalock is hitting .303 and leads the Rangers with 17 home runs and 47 RBI. He's hitting .364 with five home runs in June. ... 1B Mark Teixeira, who missed the first six games against the Mariners, is 6 for 18 (.333) in his past four games.

Who's not: RH Ryan Drese, scheduled to start tonight, is 1-3 with a 5.06 ERA in his past five starts. ... OF David Dellucci is just 1 for 33 (.030) in June.

Against the Mariners: OF Laynce Nix, who is on the disabled list with a shoulder injury and will miss the series, tore up Seattle earlier this season. In six games, Nix hit .500 with three home runs and nine RBI. ... This season, OF Kevin Mench is hitting .364 with two home runs and five RBI, Blalock .308 with two home runs and seven RBI, 2B Alfonso Soriano .350 and SS Michael Young .333.

Note

The Rangers have been hit hard by injuries. Teixeira and Mench are back, but Nix, OF Brian Jordan, C Gerald Laird, starters Chan Ho Park and Colby Lewis and relievers Jeff Nelson, Jay Powell and Juan Dominguez are among the players on the disabled list.
