The match serves as the final leg of qualifying for the U.S. Open Cup. It's also the inaugural Cascadia Cup match and a regular A-League match. ... Sounders midfielder Sean-Michael Callahan will miss the match to serve a one-game suspension for his red-card ejection in the 58th minute of last Saturday's 1-1 tie with Edmonton in the home opener. ... The Sounders will attempt to snap a three-match losing streak to the Timbers, who will play without injured starters McKinley Tennyson (inflamed hip) and Brian Winters (plantar fasciitis). ... The Sounders lead the series 9-5-1 since the Timbers joined the league in 2001. ... As part of celebrating the 30th anniversary of the start of pro soccer in Seattle, the Sounders will honor Chance Fry (1982-83, 1994-98) before tonight's match.
