John Lucas III, 5-11, Jr.

vs. Brendon Merritt, 6-4, Sr.

Lucas is the son of the former Sonic and a transfer from Baylor who had a breakout year. Merritt, from Tacoma, was the Big Sky tournament MVP. Lucas is the better scorer (15.4 per game to Merritt's 10.9).

Edge: OSU.

G Tony Allen, 6-4, Sr. vs. Alvin Snow, 6-2, Sr.

A matchup of two top defenders. Allen was the Big 12 tournament MVP and is generally regarded as the top defender in the conference. Snow, a product of Franklin High, was Big Sky player of the year and averaged 15.2 points.

Edge: Even.

G Daniel Bobik, 6-4, Jr.

vs. Danny Pariseau, 5-11, So.

Bobik is a BYU transfer who shot 41.1 percent on three-pointers (46-142). Pariseau moved into the starting lineup because of injuries and may be out of his league athletically against the Cowboys.

Edge: OSU.

Joey Graham, 6-7, Jr. vs. Marc Axton, 6-7, Jr.

Graham has been on fire of late, averaging 17.8 points in his past five games, including 36 against Nebraska. He is a transfer from Central Florida. Axton, a Foss grad, is EWU's best inside player but is also capable of shooting the three.

Edge: OSU.

Ivan McFarlin, 6-8, Sr.

vs. Matt Nelson, 6-8, Fr.

McFarlin, who averages 12.1 points, was named to the Big 12's all-defensive team. Nelson was named the Big Sky freshmen of the year and shot 57 percent from the field while averaging 7.9 points.

vs. Josh Barnard, 6-4, Sr.

Crawford had one of his best games in the Big 12 championship (6 points, 4 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 steals in 17 minutes). Barnard, a transfer from UW, is a dangerous outside shooter.

Edge: EWU.
