Top-ranked Seattle Pacific received a No. 1 seed and will host the West Regional of the NCAA Division II women's basketball tournament, beginning Friday at Brougham Pavilion. All seven games of the regional will be played on the Falcons' home court, including Saturday night's semifinals and the championship game on March 15.

Games begin at 12:30 p.m. Friday, and Seattle Pacific (27-0), which has won 47 of its last 48 home games, will face UC San Diego (15-12) in the first-round nightcap at 7:30.

Action starts with No. 3 seed Cal Poly Pomona (21-6) vs. Chico State (17-10); No. 2 seed Cal State Bakersfield (22-5), the defending regional champion, against Grand Canyon (16-11) at 2:30 p.m.; and No. 4 seed Western Washington (20-7), which finished second in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference, against Sonoma State (17-10) at 5:30 p.m.

The Falcons opened the season with an 89-57 home victory over UC San Diego on Nov. 21.

Winners of the eight regionals will advance to the Elite Eight in Saint Joseph, Mo., March 24, 25 and 27.
