PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. — The Prince George Cougars hammered the Seattle Thunderbirds 4-1 in Western Hockey League action last night.

Dylan Yeo scored for the Cougars on a power play at 3:56 of the first period. Steven Later made it 2-0 at 18:29 of the first.

Prince George's Jonathan Filewich scored at 10:20 of the second. Brad Priestlay added a goal at the start of the third period.

The T-birds finally got on the scoreboard at 17:56 of the third, on a power-play goal by Steven Goertzen.

Seattle is 11-19-7-2, fifth in the U.S. Division.
