One of the top three students in her class, 17-year-old Jasmine Lee is a strong volleyball player and a Sudoku addict.
She's also getting into video editing. She and her friends recently made a music-video remix of rapper Nelly's song "Grillz."
But above all else, Lee likes to be helpful.
For seven years, she's been an assistant at Seattle Chinese Baptist Church, working with kindergarteners to second-graders as they memorize Bible verses on Saturdays.
Every other Sunday morning, she can be found playing the piano during the church service.
And along with other members of the National Honor Society at Rainier Christian High School in Auburn, she has put together care packages for platoons in Iraq, volunteered at the Maple Valley Food Bank and gathered up donations to start a library at her school.
"Jasmine is a quiet leader," guidance counselor Kim Olson said. "She will do anything for anyone at anytime, not expecting recognition or even a thank you."
Post-graduate plans: "I'm going to attend the University of Washington, and I plan to major in engineering."
Proudest achievement: "Our volleyball team made it to state this year, so that was pretty cool."
Biggest challenge: "Having a lot of stuff going on at once — a full schedule, extracurricular activities — and finding time to still hang out with people."
Where do you hope to be in 10 years? "Done with college, at a successful job that I enjoy, married and have a family. I don't really know, just kind of where God leads me."
