Garza hired as director of communications

Sounders FC announced Tuesday that it has hired Jeff Garza as director of communications. He replaces Frank MacDonald, who had held the position since 2008 and left a few weeks ago to join Ruffneck Scarves.

Garza has spent the last seven seasons with the Seahawks, the last six as communications assistant.

According to a news release: "He will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the team's media relations, both local and national, and oversee and manage all coach and player interviews during training sessions and on match days."

This should have little effect on you, and more of an effect on me, but I wanted to pass along the news just the same.
