They are according to Brad Evans.

In a radio interview Tuesday night on 950 KJR AM, the Sounders FC midfielder said the team will be playing a friendly against a Mexican team in Cancun (presumably Atlante) following a 10-day training stop in Bradenton, Fla.

Asked about the rest of the preseason plans, Evans told Mike Gastineau and Elise Woodward:

"We've got the schedule pretty much planned out through February. We'll stay here for eight days through next Tuesday, and right now we're basically on two-a-days. Every two days we've have two-a-days with some weights mixed in and (we'll take) a day off for the Super Bowl. We'll spend a couple days in Seattle -- catch our breath a little bit, spend some time with the family. Then we're off, 10 days in Bradenton, Fla., for some more bad weather (laughs)."

"Then ... we're off to Cancun, Mexico, straight from Florida to play a game. ... The Cancun trip is going to be vital because we'll play a Mexican side that'll be similar to who we face in the Champions League opener against Santos. So this is all prep for that first game and the season, obviously."

First off, the Sounders haven't announced how long the Florida trip will be.

Secondly, there have been no details yet regarding preseason friendlies. It's been reported that Seattle is trying to schedule a couple preseason games against Mexican teams to best prepare for its CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal against Santos Laguna. But the mention of Cancun, where Atlante is the biggest team, was new.

When contacted after the interview, a Sounders FC spokesman said details on potential preseason friendlies and the dates of the Florida trip are still being finalized. An announcement is forthcoming, he said.
