Soccer fix this weekend
Posted by Jose Romero
In between and after watching my two favorite basketball teams get big wins Saturday (UO and Portland Trailblazers) I have watched parts of several matches. Right now watching Lazio and Juventus from the Olimpico in Turin. I hope to be at Rome's Stadio Olimpico this April when I go to Italy. Planning on going to an AS Roma match!
Is it OK, if you don't have a favorite Serie A team, to own an Inter Milan jersey and the AS Roma one I want to buy in Rome?
Anyway I saw my favorite Mexican side, Chivas de Guadalajara, come back to beat city rival Estudiantes de la Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, also known as Tecos (Owls). Also yesterday watched some Chelsea-Burnley. And at lunch I was informed of GolTV on demand on Comcast, which I've never watched before.
Forgot all about Arsenal-Man. United, dang. Tough loss for the Gunners at home today.
Hmm let's see, a couple of other things. I was going over my recorded interviews for a story I'm writing for Monday's Times and David Estrada of Sounders FC says his favorite Mexican club is Cruz Azul and his favorite Mexican player is Carlos Hermosillo.
Rookie Jamel Wallace - Favorite player is Michael Essien of Chelsea.
Some of you have asked about my replacement. Honestly I have no idea whom it will be nor how the Times' coverage will differ. I think those things are being discussed. I also plan to blog until the week after this one.
Happy Sunday to all!
