My next move
Posted by Jose Romero
It has come to my attention that a few of you have read about me leaving the Seattle Times and moving to Arizona.
It's true.
I don't know where to really begin, so I won't, other than to say that this is NOT my final blog post, as I still have a job to do for the best sports section in the country as far as I'm concerned, the Seattle Times, and that my decision is purely personal.
UPDATE 2:12 p.m. - Working on a Sounders FC story for Sunday Times as we speak! Then its off to the George & Dragon for the Gorilla FC Haiti benefit, can someone save me a good parking spot? Kidding...
I could not have enjoyed this job and interacting with you, the fans, more. And the same goes for everyone in the Sounders FC organization, front office to coaches to players to support staff that I have had the pleasure to talk to and get to know.
This was a decision that took some time to make and believe me, walking away from this is the most difficult thing I've ever been faced with in my career.
There will be more time in the next couple of weeks to say goodbyes, and I'm working on a celebration to be held here in town next week in honor of my friends, my 11-plus years in Seattle and those who took the time to read what I wrote over the years, be it the Sounders, the Seahawks, the Mariners, etc.
For now I say to you all, Gracias por apoyarme y por ayudarme. Thanks for supporting and helping me. 2009 was the best year I've ever had in Seattle, because of the vibe around this team (the Sounders) and you, its wonderful fans.
