Lower bowl at Robertson Stadium is sold out
Posted by Jose Romero
No Sounders FC practice today, but thanks to the Dynamo press crew that really does a nice job, I've learned that Houston's home field is down to upper level end zone and sideline seats. The stadium holds 32,000, and having been there, I like it. Some nice palm trees in the corners, good view of everything from the press box and easy parking very close by. The orange of the Dynamo kind of clashes with the Houston Cougar red, though.
Now, we in Seattle would tend to scoff at this, because Sounders FC games are so well-attended and the team even opens up additional seating. But as soccer fans, we all agree, I think, that good crowds are only good for the growth of the sport. So here's hoping that the home of the Dynamo is packed Sunday.
From the Dynamo:
Gates will open at 12:30 p.m. for decisive second leg
HOUSTON, TX (Wednesday, November 4, 2009) - The lower bowl of Robertson Stadium is sold out for Sunday's Western Conference semifinal second leg between the Houston Dynamo and the Seattle Sounders. Good seats are still available on the endlines and sidelines for Sunday's match, presented by Nutrament, Academy Sports + Outdoors, and adidas. Tickets are available at HoustonDynamo.com and all Ticketmaster outlets.
The first 10,000 fans through the gates will receive a free Dynamo playoff rally towel, courtesy of Academy Sports + Outdoors and adidas. Gates will open at 12:30 p.m. for the 2 p.m. kickoff, 30 minutes earlier than for a normal regular season game.
Houston's last three home playoff games have been attended by sellout crowds of more than 30,000.
