Sounders FC practice, 10-30-09
Posted by Jose Romero
The starters and most players from last night were finished after only about 40 minutes, but the reserves played a 60-minute game against a team made up mostly of Seattle Wolves.
Michael Fucito played for both teams at different times and scored a goal for each side.
Tyrone Marshall told me that backup goalkeeper Terry Boss inadvertently hit him in the back of the right leg during practice Wednesday, and that caused Marshall's knee to buckle and the ligament to be strained. Marshall was held out of drills Friday but it sounds like he expects to be ready for next Sunday's game.
Sounders FC gets the weekend off and comes back to work Monday and Tuesday, takes Wednesday off and practices Thursday and Friday.
Coach Sigi Schmid was asked about the crowd last night and any difference felt with a couple of thousand more folks in the seats.
"I thought it was louder. I thought the fans were really into it. You could definitely feel the buzz of the stadium. The opening game, there was a tremendous buzz, the game against FC Dallas had a great buzz. Not that any game is bad for us, but this game was right up there with those two games."
