Houston 0, Seattle 0: Another chapter in the rivalry
Posted by Jose Romero
First, Tyrone Marshall was injured Wednesday in practice. He had hoped to be ready to start but wasn't 100 percent sure so the team decided to keep him out of the game with the knee injury and make sure he is ready for next Sunday.
Patrick Ianni filled in ably and had two great scoring chances.
The officiating was a big topic with Sigi Schmid after the game. He said he asked referee Ricardo Salazar (see the final game report to learn how Salazar justified the yellow cards on Onstad and Montero in the first half scuffle) if this is the way the playoff games are going to be allowed to be played. Schmid said Salazar didn't answer the question.
Solid game defensively for Seattle. But not enough chances generated on offense, some credit to the Dynamo for that. Houston came in and walked away not trailing on aggreggate goals, I say advantage Dynamo.
The field is now being changed over for football, and I did catcha glimpse of Gov. Gregoire at the match tonight. The crowd was perhaps even more vocal than in other games, hard as that is to imagine.
Practice for Seattle tomorrow at Starfire.
