Kasey Keller: "I'll live."

Posted by Jose Romero

That's what the Sounders FC keeper said to me as I saw him leaving practice before the rest of the team had left at the tail end of practice this morning. He looked to be walking without a noticeable limp. I tried to press him for a status, but he came back at me with the fact that this is not the NFL: there is no injury report.

Keller also said it isn't his ankle, but that could have been just to throw me off, him knowing I was going to post any news.

So, we will wait and see. Based on what coach Sigi Schmid said, however, you can expect Keller to play tomorrow. Fredy Montero, too.

"They were both out there. Kasey trained full-on, and Montero trained as well, so we feel OK with both of them," Schmid said today.

Montero had a low-grad fever yesterday, but Schmid didn't seem worried about him being contagious with the flu going around.

"I hugged him before practice. I figured if anybody's going to get sick it'll be me. He felt a lot better today so hopefully it was a little bug."

Schmid said Keller went through everything today in practice and didn't express any concern about his mobility.

Keller is a warrior. I have confidence that he and montero will play despite any problems because they are both bigtime players. Keller is better...  Posted on October 28, 2009 at 2:12 PM by ZakAttack11. Jump to comment
