The Carolina Railhawks visit Starfire
Posted by Jose Romero
They must have felt at home with all the trains that rumble by.
But seriously, the USL-1's Railhawks practiced at Starfire Stadium Wednesday, then some of the guys came over to the Sounders FC fields to say hello to friends. The Railhawks face the Vancouver Whitecaps up north Thursday night and wanted to get in a practice here before busing up to Canada for the first leg of the home-and-home opening round USL-1 playoff series.
It's the second-seed (Carolina) vs. seventh-seed matchup in the playoffs. Game is at 7:30 at Swangard Stadium. The series shifts back to Carolina over the weekend.
Gavin Glinton, No. 16 for Carolina, was a pretty popular guy with Sounders FC players. He is a former MLS player.
Here's Glinton with Peter Vagenas.
Others who came to practice were former USL Sounder Josh Gardner, D Devon McKenney (Columbus Crew), M Daniel Paladini (Chivas USA), D Greg Shields and midfielder Brad Rusin. It turned into a nice little gathering of hugs and handshakes all around.
