Sounders FC off to Utah

Posted by Jose Romero

The team had an early practice this morning.

As for me, trying to take it easy this weekend since I am not on the trip.

I'll start with a link to today's report. There was a quote in the last note about the seemingly preferred lineup that didn't make the paper, and here it is:

"That's a group that can be successful," Schmid said. "There's obviously some players in and out that can add to that or if players aren't sharp than you have to make those changes...we've got offensive potential there, but we've also got to find the right balance when we don't have the ball and guys maybe have to defend a little more than they're used to to make sure we have the balance in our game."

From eveything I read, sounds like the arrival of Real Madrid in Toronto created quite a buzz. The Galacticos had an open practice at BMO Field, they charged to get in, but it makes me think that FC Barcelona should have tried to do that here. I'm sure many of you would agree. Maybe next time. But hey, I'm just glad FCB came overall.

Now as we get ready for the Real Salt Lake match, read what the Deseret News of Utah has about Seattle and it's "sound" expansion. Good story, interesting comment from RSL coach Jason Kreis.

And for those of you that are curious, here is the story on Xango, the Utah-based company whose name is on the front of the RSL jerseys.

A leading global nutrition company, XanGo, LLC is a recognized category creator as the first company to market a premium mangosteen beverage, XanGo® Juice, to consumers worldwide. XanGo continues to lead the category by driving the research, development and advancement of functional mangosteen products. It has expanded its roster of premium, functional products to include 3SIXTY5(TM), a whole food nutrition multi-vitamin, along with Glimpse (R) Intuitive Skin Care. XanGo is privately owned and powered by a global network of nearly 1 million independent distributors in the U.S. and more than 20 international markets such as Canada, Mexico, Japan, Germany and Malaysia.
