FC Barcelona morning practice, Aug. 3

Got up and made it over to the UW for FC Barcelona practice this morning. Saw all the players, even Zlatan Ibrahimovic. He was the big story for the Catalan (Barcelona) media, as he was making his practice debut with FCB and was wearing a wrap over his injured wrist.

My personal highlight: Getting drilled in the shoulder by an errant Lionel Messi PK as I walked behind the goal. I was like 20 yards from the goal and still got hit even when trying to duck.

At one point the sprinklers were turned on and that sent the reporters from Spain scrambling up the bleachers at the UW soccer field.

So far I have heard nothing about a practice being open to the public but I am checking.
