All-Star festivities, and what I learned late last night
Posted by Jose Romero
OK let's start with the links to the two stories I wrote for today's paper. First, the close relationship that Jhon Kennedy Hurtado and Fredy Montero have. Second, notes from the All-Star practice featuring Kasey Keller and Freddie Ljungberg.
I learned that Ljungberg will miss the team's next game, but that is it. His yellow card total remains at four and he will sit out for getting the red card last week.
I learned that Seattle defenders James Riley, whom I encountered at the MLS W.O.R.K.S event tonight in Park City, is in the area for meetings as one of Sounders FC's representatives in the players union.
Cuauhtemoc Blanco and Kansas City goalkeeper Kevin Hartman made appearances at Harry O's, the Park City spot where the event was held. Here's Park City at night.
I learned that Brad Evans is back in Seattle after the Gold Cup, and that Leonardo Gonzalez could be with the team later this week.
MLS really puts on a good show. Here's video from the All-Star Jam tonight. I was on a balcony attached to a suite on the same level as the players from Everton and the MLS, who were mingling together. You can see them in white and blue shirts.
