Fredy Montero: "South American standards"

Posted by Jose Romero

Fredy spoke to reporters after the match last night. He was asked if he was frustrated about not putting in earlier chances.

"Of course," Montero said in Spanish. "I'm always looking to score in every game. Well, today I couldn't score but I did draw the penalty to send us the semifinals."

Question: How did the play in which you drew the penalty develop?
FM: "I got a pass from Stephen King. My intention was to bring the keeper out. He left the goal, I think you know the standards a South American player has, and in the last minute that was the best choice to get a goal. And thank God we got the good fortune to get the goal."
