Pumas/Timbers
Posted by Jose Romero
Great people out here. I met the stadium groundskeeper who said he cut the grass field to two inches, but it is playing slow right now. And a blog reader in a Sounders FC jersey who was kind enough to say hello.
The Timbers Army has arrived from the south with green and white flags and blue state of Oregon flag.
Pumas have their crew of supporters behind Portland goal and there is a nice crowd here making noise.
Starting lineups:
Portland: GK Steve Cronin, D David Hayes, D Stephen Keel, D Mamadou Danso, D Scot Thompson, M Brian Farber, M Alex Nimo, M Tony McManus, M Keith Savage, F Mandjou Keita, F Jason Mclaughlin,
Kitsap SC: GK Dustyn Brim, D Max Lipset, D Mark Lee, D Taylor Hyde, D Stephen Mohn, M Matt Friesen, M Tony Kerr, M Kyle Johnson, M Mark Conrad, F Spencer Schomaker, F Stephen Phillips.
Here are the teams on the field (Pumas in white and blue) with 4A state champs South Kitsap in front.
17th min -- Best chance for PDX: Keita has wide open net but misses wide right in front of Portland fans.
29th min --Pumas' Mark Conrad heads the ball into the ground and it almost bounces in off the entry pass into the box. But ball goes over the net.
