The Governator from California is backing the bid to bring the World Cup to the U.S. in 2018 or 2022. Check it out, from the MLS Web site.
Couple of more things from today: Sigi Schmid on emphasis on concentration in practice versus games:
"It's a little combination of both. The thing that I talked about more so after the last game was just putting the balls down quickly, playing free kicks quickly, getting the ball back into play. In fact, the goal in the last game was a result of us [getting] a free kick and putting it into play quickly. And we did a much better job of that in the second half. We can replicate that in practice by just making sure they do restarts quicker; the ball goes out of bounds, instead of us playing it in, making sure they do throw-ins and they put the ball back in play. Just the alertness factor that we can emphasize through various training rhythms."
Nate Jaqua on lobbying for Goal of the Week:
"It doesn't matter. It was a good goal to tie it up and that's what matters. It would have been nice to get another one and win it, but it's kind of cool. Not anything I'm worried about."
