Why no reserve games on the horizon? UPDATED
Posted by Jose Romero
Not sure. Sounders FC did have a reserve game scheduled for June 9 vs. Kitsap Pumas, but they are in U.S. Open Cup so that was canceled. Sounders FC will continue to try to find reserve games throughout the summer, but none are currently scheduled.
Just spoke with Adrian Hanauer. To clarify, players from all three local PDL teams (Seattle Wolves, Pumas and Tacoma Tides) may train with the MLS team based on Sounders FC scheduling and injuries.
Found this quote from Preston Burpo, former USL Sounders GK, from after the Open Cup match:
(On playing here at this facility (Starfire)) "I think for both it was tough. Both teams are a little blue collar and hard working. You have ten guys putting pressure on their area of the field and I don't think it was a beautiful game of soccer tonight. I think it was two teams who played hard all night."
