Checking in with Roger Levesque
Posted by Jose Romero
Roger talked to reporters yesterday after the game. He said he'd never seen Sanna Nyassi have a throw-in like the one he had that contributed to the goal for Sounders FC.
Levesque got his fourth assist in two Open Cup games.
Levesque also said that the team came out with a lot of energy vs. the Rapids. Then I asked him about playing in the U.S. Open Cup as an MLS team and the hunted, as opposed to being a USL Sounder and being the hunter.
"It's interesting, the fact that we had to play two play-in games against MLS teams to get into the Cup, and then the next round play a USL team or a PDL team," Levesque said. "At the same time, those games are sometimes just as difficult. We had in the past a lot to prove [as USL Sounders]. Always trying to prove that you can play at that next level, so sometimes those games are just as difficult as coming out here and playing a team like Colorado. But we're looking forward to it. Just another chance to play."
