First off want to say that I read all comments and all had their valid points and arguments, so that's a credit to the readers.

Sorry I don't have much this weekend, trying to rest up a little and enjoy a bit of down time. It's a long season.

No update on Alonso besides what we know...strained quadriceps with an update on his availability for next game coming tomorrow. And yes, I was definitely trying to give Keller credit for preserving the tie.

Here are, thanks to the Colorado media relations staff -- a solid crew I've worked with before -- quotes from after last night's game.

Rapids Head Coach Gary Smith
On the game:
"We played great football in the beginning, especially in the first half. It's nice to see some of the positive things that are happening. But at the moment we are just not able to see it out."

On finishing games:
"We spoke about it in the changing room. Once you are up, there is a fine line between getting the third goal and putting it out of their reach or sitting back. I think we got that line wrong tonight. I think there was some of the group trying to win the game out-right and the other half thinking we should just hold onto it. And it gave them an opportunity to get back into the game."

Rapids Cory Gibbs
On the game:
"It's disappointing. We need to learn how to close out teams. This was a game that we needed to get three points from."

On the second Seattle goal:
"Everything broke down. The counter attack, Scott (Palguta) went down with cramps, we didn't win the header, the ball got behind me goal-side and they got the score."

"Seattle had their chances but when you look at the game as a whole played well enough to earn the three points. They were the stronger team the last 15 minutes though. This was probably the only game, we were not the stronger team at the end and I give them credit for that. But in terms of a full 90, I think we did enough that we should have won."

Rapids Colin Clark
On the game:
"The first half and the opening 15 minutes of the second half is the way we want to play- pushing forward and attacking and defending as a group creating a lot of opportunities. Now we need to do that over 90 minutes. We need to learn how to continue to play that way once we have a lead."

"The last 20 minutes, I think we got stretched. We were really pushing up front to get that third goal in front of the home crowd. Both teams were getting a lot of counter balls. Before that I thought we were compact and applying good pressure."

On his goal:
"It's a great feeling. It was a great ball from Omar (Cummings). It came to me and I was happy I was able to get the finish."

Sounders Head Coach Sigi Schmid
General Overview of game:
"Kasey Keller played very well in first half, kept us in game with some very big saves. Losing Alonso early in the game. He said he felt something in warm ups thought he could go. First time he tried to sprint, you know, he couldn't go. So, that's obviously a big change when you got an entirely new midfield that's playing together for the first time. I felt we were a little disjointed in the first half, our midfielders were a little too wide, and so we gave them a lot of space. We knew they were a very direct team and they got in behind us quite a few times. Second half, I thought we played a little bit better, even though we took that early goal, defensively I though we were better. Even at the end of the game we had a couple of chances to steal the game."

Sounders Kasey Keller
On string of ties and results:
"I don't mind that, some of the ties were good, and some of them, the L.A. game we were disappointed in the tie. We were playing a man down. We were playing a couple tough games away from home. I have been very happy with the results."

"Colorado looked tremendous in probably last half hour of first half. And we really rolled our luck a lot. You rue the chance when you don't score. Opportunities only come along so often and if you don't take advantage of them, keep teams in games, stuff happens. And we could have snuck it at the end. And that would have been a real travesty for Colorado. But at the same time, that's what it is about, when you aren't playing well you hang in there and give yourself a chance and we did that."

On being behind:
"We have shown that through the year, that we can come back. I think we need to go on another little run here of shutouts."

Goals that were allowed:
"There first goal was a classic counter attack, inside out, tap in from about eight yards out. Credit a good move. And a deflection, what are you going to do?"

Sounders Nate Jaqua
Tonight first half, tough game:
""Oh, yeah, a bit stagnant in the first half, they really came at us, and did a good job. We were able to turn it around and get up field and get possession. Second half, at least towards the end there we were able to pushing forward and were able to create stuff."

On his goal:
"Right place at right time."

Talk about half time:
"Wasn't so much change, we just needed to be harder in there, win 50-50's, win second balls, be a little better in the midfield. They were beating us up in there, winning second balls and countering. We actually did a better job of that in the second half, I felt like. Still credit them, they played well tonight. We still didn't play our best soccer tonight."

What does it say about this team with the injuries mounting in the last couple of weeks still salvaging points:
"We got a real deep team, which is kind of different for an expansion team. Which is great for us. With guys step in and do a good job when their number is called. And that's good to know. With the injuries last couple weeks; it gives you confidence when someone does go out."
