Ljungberg out with a migraine; Eylander to I.R.
Posted by Jose Romero
Here's what I have written for the Times Web site:
DALLAS -- Sounders FC will be without center midfielder Freddie Ljungberg for tonight's game against FC Dallas.
Ljungberg, according to the team, was dealing with a migraine Friday and did not make the trip to Texas with the team. No timetable for his return has been set.
Ljungberg, Seattle's designated player who has started six of seven games played, was not on the team's official injury report released Thursday. Sounders FC will likely start Brad Evans, who opened the season at Ljungberg's offensive midfielder position, in place of Ljungberg, which could open the door for both Sebastien Le Toux and Steve Zakuani to start on the midfield wings.
Evans had been playing right midfielder since Ljungberg joined the starting lineup in Week Three of the season.
Also, Seattle backup goalkeeper Chris Eylander has been placed on the injured reserve list with a medial bone bruise to his left knee. Eylander, who dealt with a right knee sprain before the season, will miss the next six MLS games and be eligible for activation prior to the June 20 game at New York.
