Fredy Montero esta en Colombia
Posted by Jose Romero
Translation:
Fredy Montero is in Colombia
Montero left the team, with encouragement from the higher-ups, for his homeland last Friday. The Sounders FC forward who was suspended from Sunday's game will return later today, according to the team.
UPDATE 2:53 p.m. -- Thanks for the heads up on the translation correction. Issue resolved. As for what Montero's absence means, probably a good thing for him to get back home, clear his head a little and let his family know that he's OK in Seattle. I'll bet there were plenty of smiles and good times for Fredy when he got back and I'm sure his family needed to feel reassured that all of the stuff from the first couple of weeks of the season is behind him.
I think there's a sense that Fredy can come back from this trip with a renewed focus and energy, even though he's got to be a little homesick.
Then Montero will be at practice tomorrow, the team tells me.
