Sounders FC's Freddie Ljungberg named to MLS Best XI
Seattle midfielder is only Sounders FC player on league's list of top 11 players.

Sounders FC midfielder Freddie Ljungberg was voted to Major League Soccer's Best XI.
The Best XI is a postseason award that recognizes the league's top 11 players at each position. Ljungberg, one of four MLS All-Stars representing Sounders FC in its inaugural season, was the club's lone honoree.
Ljungberg, a native of Sweden who became a star in the English Premier League with Arsenal, signed to become Sounders FC's designated player last fall.
Ljungberg led Seattle with nine assists and scored two goals. Ljungberg was named an MLS All-Star, was MLS player of the month for October and was a finalist for MLS newcomer of the year (which was awarded to teammate Fredy Montero).
Ljungberg had hip surgery before the season and dealt with severe migraines during the regular campaign that forced him out of a few games, but he made a major impact on Sounders FC's attack when healthy and playing at full strength.
Houston was the only club with two players on the team:
• Goalkeeper: Zach Thornton, Chivas USA.
• Defenders: Geoff Cameron, Houston; Wilman Conde, Chicago; Chad Marshall, Columbus.
• Midfielders: Dwayne De Rosario, Toronto FC; Landon Donovan, Los Angeles; Stuart Holden, Houston; Shalrie Joseph, New England; Freddie Ljungberg, Seattle.
• Forwards: Conor Casey, Colorado; Jeff Cunningham, FC Dallas.
