SANDY, Utah — Robbie Findley scored in the 88th minute to give Real Salt Lake a 1-0 victory over the defending MLS Cup champion Columbus Crew on Saturday in the first leg of their two-match Major League Soccer playoff series.
Yura Movsisyan corralled the ball after a throw-in and sent a cross toward the right post. Findley, a former Oregon State standout, rushed to the ball, slid and threaded it perfectly between Columbus goalkeeper William Hesmer and the post.
Real Salt Lake keeper Nick Rimando made two saves.
The Crew, a two-time Supporters' Shield winner, is the third consecutive opponent Real Salt Lake has held scoreless at Rio Tinto Stadium.

Chelsea prevails
LONDON — Chelsea routed Bolton 4-0 to stay atop the English Premier League, and Manchester United remained two points behind with a 2-0 victory over Blackburn.
