HOUSTON — Brian Ching scored twice in the first half and the Houston Dynamo held on for a 4-3 victory over D.C. United on Saturday night.
Houston (10-5-5) extended its lead in the Western Conference to six points over second-place Seattle.
The Dynamo scored three goals in a three-minute span in the first half, with Brad Davis scoring in the 36th minute before Ching scored twice a minute apart. Ching is a former Sounders USL player from Gonzaga.
United is 6-4-10.

Jeff Cunningham had a career-high four goals to move into third place on the league's all-time list and David Ferreira scored twice to lead FC Dallas (5-9-5) over Kansas City.
K.C. (5-7-7) dropped to 0-2-2 in its past four matches.
At Fire 1, Real Salt Lake 0
Patrick Nyarko scored in the 76th minute to lift Chicago over Real Salt Lake.
The Fire (8-3-8) improved to 3-0-2 in its past five games. Salt Lake (6-8-5) had 16 shots, but just three on goal.

Edgaras Jankauskas scored his first goal of the season in the 76th minute to give New England (6-5-6) a draw with Toronto FC.
Dwayne DeRosario scored his eighth goal in the 34th minute to give Toronto (7-7-6) the lead.

Chad Marshall scored in the 39th minute as Columbus beat Colorado (7-6-6).
Goalkeeper William Hesmer made several key saves en route to his third shutout of the season for Eastern Conference-leading Columbus (8-3-9).
