Seattle Sounders tie with Puerto Rico in soccer
The Seattle Sounders soccer team drew, 1-1, with the Puerto Rico Islanders on Friday night in a United Soccer Leagues game.
The Seattle Sounders drew 1-1 with the Puerto Rico Islanders on Friday night in Bayamon.
Islanders striker Taiwo Atieno scored in the 34th minute with a blast from about 30 yards. Sounders defender Taylor Graham scored the equalizer in the 77th with an assist from midfielder Hugo Alcaraz-Cuellar.
The Islanders (1-3-2) had a goal called back in the 85th minute because of a foul.
The Sounders (3-2-4) travel to Miami to take on the Blues on Sunday.
The match marked the first time the two teams have played since the 2007 semifinal series when Seattle won in a penalty-kick shootout.
