Several ski areas hoping to open soon

With snow increasing in the mountains, here's the latest on local ski areas' plans for opening:

Crystal Mountain: Due to an expected warm-up tonight and Wednesday, Crystal has delayed its opening one day to Thursday. This morning they were reporting a base depth of 35 inches. Check the Web site for the latest news.

Mount Baker: With 63 inches of snow in the last four days, Mount Baker has set Thursday as opening day. Check the Web site for the latest news.

Stevens Pass: Friday is the new tentative date for opening, depending on weather between now and then. This morning they reported a base depth of 45 inches. Check the Web site for the latest news.

The Summit at Snoqualmie: No opening date set yet. This morning they were reporting 14 inches of new snow in the previous 48 hours. Check the Web site for the latest news.
