Everett
The Everett Public Schools said it spent more than $50,000 in the first six months of the school year to get rid of graffiti and fix damage caused by vandals.
The district said graffiti is appearing more and more on school buildings, fences and vehicles.
Three years ago, the district spent about $150,000 to remove graffiti and repair damages, and it worries that costs for similar clean up will exceed that amount.
The district asks people who see suspicious activity at its school sites to call 911.

Plan to ease school overcrowding
The Mukilteo School District is making some changes to ease overcrowding and accommodate growth at Odyssey Elementary in Everett.
The district said next year's Odyssey Elementary kindergarten students and their teachers will use classrooms at Serene Lake Elementary, and new students moving into the area north of Airport Road and 128th Street Southwest will attend Olivia Park or Discovery elementary schools.
Students currently attending Odyssey will not be affected by the changes.
There are about 100 more students enrolled at Odyssey than the school has capacity for this year, the district said.
