Snohomish County's performance venues range from the $71.5 million, 10,000-seat Everett Events Center to Edmonds City Park, where a towel on the grass is your free seat to the park concerts.

Here's a look at each of them.

1. Darrington Bluegrass

Music Park

42501 Highway 530 N.E., Darrington

The 40-acre grounds host the Darrington Bluegrass Festival, three days of acoustic music in the shadow of Mount Whitehorse July 20-22. Musicians play on a cabin porch facing the mountain. Spectators can watch from concrete risers in a Greek-style amphitheater or set up tents and spread blankets on the ground; there's also room for RVs. Among this year's talents are Rhonda Vincent, named best female vocalist by the International Bluegrass Music Association, with her band Rage.

Information: www.glacierview.net/bluegrass or Roy and Diana Morgan at 360-436-1179.

2. Tulalip Amphitheatre

Quil Ceda Village, 10400 Quil Ceda Blvd., Tulalip Reservation

In 2005, Grammy-winner Trisha Yearwood was the first ticketed attraction at the 3,000-seat amphitheater located between the Tulalip Casino and the Seattle Premium Outlets. It has featured The Temptations, Julio Iglesias and many other name acts since then.

4. Everett Performing

5. Everett Civic Auditorium

2415 Colby Ave., Everett

The Everett School District owns and runs this community landmark, a 1,540-seat auditorium erected in 1939 and remodeled in 1979. It is home to the Everett Symphony and Everett Civic Music Association and a venue for school events and regional and national touring companies.

6. Everett Events Center

2000 Hewitt Ave., Everett

The county's largest (10,000-seat) venue has become the go-to place for sports as well as entertainment.

7. Everett Theatre

2911 Colby Ave., Everett

Snohomish County's oldest continuously operating theater opened in downtown Everett in 1901; except for a brief hiatus in 1923 after a fire, it has hosted entertainment ever since. Now run by the nonprofit Everett Theatre Society, it presents local productions and also rents out the theater for local and national shows.

Information: 425-258-6766, www.everetttheatre.org.

The rebuilt 1939 Works Progress Administration project, formerly a series of schools, reopened last fall with an Art Moderne restoration by the architects of Seattle's Benaroya Hall. LMN Architects created a 700-seat theater hosting an international artists series as well as concerts and shows by such local presenters as the Cascade Symphony Orchestra, Olympic Ballet Theatre, Sno-King Community Chorale and Edmonds Community College groups.
